Definition

A SHA-256 cryptographic hash generated by Osapher that certifies the identity data of a verified entity at the time of verification. The hash is prefixed with VRNT- and embedded in JSON-LD schema as a PropertyValue identifier.

How It Is Generated

The hash is computed by combining the following fields:

  • domain — the verified website domain
  • legalName — the ABR or NZBN registered legal name
  • abn — the Australian Business Number (or NZBN equivalent)
  • auditId — the unique Osapher audit identifier

These fields are concatenated and hashed with SHA-256. The result is prefixed with VRNT- and stored as the verintySignature value.

What It Proves

  • The entity's identity was verified by Osapher at the time of certification
  • The identity data (name, ABN, domain) has not been tampered with since certification
  • The certification was issued by Osapher, not self-declared by the entity

Any party can verify a verintySignature value by visiting osapher.com/certification or querying app.osapher.com.au/verify/[auditId].
